Following Berlin, OMD or Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark was up next.  I’m not a rabid OMD fan, but it was fun to see them and they brought back memories of songs I had forgotten about — like their opening song, ‘Enola Gay.’

Also celebrating 40 years in the music business, founders Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys are still maneuvering, having issued 13 studio albums since 1980.  Despite not following them for all these years, I admire the commitment, camaraderie and creativity they continue to muster.

Aside from their big single, ‘If You Leave’ from the John Hughes 1985 classic, Pretty in Pink, I was reminded of a few songs I loved from them — ‘Dreaming’ which they played, and ‘Souvenir,’ which they didn’t.  Listen to their entire set list here, in the dark, in the light, it’s your call.
